We instill in our students a commitment to continuous education, to grow in compassion and skill, and to promote wellness in their community, that they may bring healing therapy to their clients in an honorable and ethical manner.

Our Philosophy

Because massage therapy is essential to good health, the massage therapist must be well-trained and have the over-all knowledge needed to care for each client as necessary. Since clients’ needs vary, Augusta School of Massage, Inc. teaches many different massage theories, techniques, and methods so that our therapists are thoroughly prepared to care for their clients as effectively as possible. We do not believe there is only one way to help a client. Hence, Augusta school of Massage, Inc. promotes an open learning environment for its students, making sure that the newest and most effective techniques are taught.

Our goal at Augusta School of Massage is to prepare students to have successful, thriving careers in the field of massage therapy. To do this, we challenge our students to learn not only the technical aspects of massage therapy but also the more compassionate aspects of client care. A good balance of these two areas of learning leads graduating students to become exceptional, professional massage therapists.

Our History

Leigh Ann Keels, a licensed Massage therapist, and Jackie King, a Physical therapist, began Augusta School of Massage, Inc. in January of 2000 at 3512 1/2 Wheeler Road, Augusta, Georgia, because they believed that almost everyone can benefit from massage therapy; physically, mentally, and emotionally. Due in large part to Leigh Ann’s commitment to the quality of education for the students of Augusta School of Massage, the school has grown significantly since its inception.

Leigh Ann’s faith in the success of the school led her, in June of 2001, to purchase Jackie’s interest in the school.

With the school experiencing growing pains, it was evident that it was time for expansion. So in July 2003, construction began on a new building to house the school. However, Leigh Ann’s vision did not stop there! In addition to Augusta School of Massage, her vision included a new luxurious spa. Thus, Tuscany, A Classic Italian Spa was born. So our new location houses Tuscany on the upper level and Augusta School of Massage on the lower level.

Classes were first held in our beautiful new building on April 12, 2004. ASM now has modern classrooms and is housed in a beautiful Italian setting.

We continue to see great things ahead and we want you to be a part of it! Contact us now to get started!
