Welding, Fabrication & Allied Processes

Welding & Fabrication is one of the few career choices that is in high demand at all times. Since welders are needed in almost every industry, it gives them the flexibility to switch industries without changing careers. Let’s face the facts; most career choices have ups and downs.

Welding on the other hand has endless opportunities that keep fueling the demand. Welding is a career that offers more choices of industries to work in and advancement opportunities than just about any other career choice. Welders are needed in almost every industry and those who want to advance their career have the ability to do so with additional training.

A few examples of the fields in which Welders can find career opportunities: Inspection, Engineering, Robotics Education, Project Management and Sales.

This 650-hour program provides training in a broad range of welding skills. A student will learn lab safety, weld print reading, oxy fuel cutting and carbon arc cutting and gouging. The course provides instruction in four of the most common welding processes; Shielded Metal Arc Welding SMAW, Flux Cored Arc Welding FCAW, Gas Metal Arc Welding GMAW (MIG), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding GTAW (TIG). Students will also learn structural fabrication skills and be provided with an introduction to both pipe welding and robotic welding. The program prepares a student for entry level industrial welding employment.

Certifications Available Within Program
Students will be given the opportunity to test for American Welding Society certifications, actual receipt of certification is based on successful passage of cert testing and completion of certifying agency criteria.

  • American Welding Society (AWS) examination(s) and certification(s) based on individual student’s progress and aptitudes
  • AWS Certified Welder D1.1 3G SMAW
  • AWS Certified Welder D1.1 4G SMAW
